Nate started his career in horticulture by earning an associate degree in turfgrass management from Owens College in Toledo, Ohio and finished with a Bachelor in Horticulture at Ohio State University. Nate moved to Chicago in 1998 to start his career with a small high-end residential firm. It wasn't long before he was recognized for his talent, and took a position with one of Chicago's premier high-end residential design build firms. Working as project manager, it was here Nate met his wife Sandy, and they married in 2005, when they moved to Maui, where he worked as a nursery manager. When it was time to come back to the “mainland” Nate and Sandy chose Colorado, without any job prospects. It just so happens that the owner of Outdoor Craftsmen used to work for the same company Nate did back in Chicago and was very familiar with most of the people he had worked with there. Nate started in June of 2008 working for and with Scott as project manager.
