English garden ideals with a Colorado flare

The Vision: A love of old English heritage was the cornerstone for this family's dream to transform their tired suburban landscape into a functional outdoor living space that reflects English garden ideals with a Colorado flare. Places to entertain both young and old, and a secret garden for the lady of the house was the directive.

Our Solution:  Maximize the available space, add a hard wood deck overlook, and include multi-tiered cobblestone patios and water feature.  Lush  select plantings provide year-round interest with an English style (combination of bloom sequence which a layer to maximize the depth of the planting beds). Specimen structural plants create the foundation of the new garden. Although being protected large mature trees, an extensive pergola system was hand-built and covered in different flowering and fruiting vines and adds a shady, cool place to enjoy and entertain.  The kids have their own space while the adults may wish to retire to the fireside in the ruins of their own gothic style privet hideaway. The lady of the house has her space as well where she can sit back and enjoy the soft sound of the softly-flowing stream.
